Ruth Matondo Nowatuwila, 19, passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021 in Halifax, N.S. Born in Kinshasa, R.D. Congo, she was the daughter of Jean-Pierre Nowatuwula Kabutako and Euphrasie Ntumbi Sanga.

Ruth was a caring, sincere, intelligent, generous and always smiling person. She was very attached to children. She was also passionate about modeling. She graduated from James J. Ferris High School in Jersey City, United States, in June 2020.

Besides her parents she is survived by four sisters: Pierrette, Naomie, Flore, and Marina; four brothers: Don de Dieu, Ben Arnold, Gédéon, and Elie; her sister-in-law, Raicha (Don’s wife); her brother-in-law, Dida Lionel (Pierrette’s husband); her nephew, Ben Éden (son of Raicha and Don); as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Saturday August 28 from 10 am until time of departure (10:45). Due to the pandemic, face coverings are recommended and social distancing regulations are in effect. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sainte-Thérèse-de-l’Enfant-Jésus, 457 Acadie Avenue, Dieppe, on Saturday August 28 at 11 am. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Ruth, a contribution to the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax (IWK Foundation) and your prayers would be appreciated.
