Sister Aurèla (Éva) Richard (Sr. Marie-Aurèla), ndsc, passed away following a short illness on Monday August 23, 2021, at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton. She was 87 years old and in the 70th year of her religious life. Born in Saint-Maurice, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Marie-Luce (Goguen) Richard.

Besides her religious family, she is survived by three sisters: Sr. Léona ndsc of Moncton, Aurèla Fleweling (Aubrey) of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, and Hermine Daigle (late Edmond) of Shediac; as well as several nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Roger, and an infant sister, Léona.

Sister Aurèla will be resting at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday August 25 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are recommended and social distancing regulations are in effect. A funeral mass by invitation will be celebrated in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton on Thursday August 26 at 10h. The funeral mass will be streamed live and may be viewed on her obituary at www.frenettefuneralhome.com where condolences may also be sent. Interment will be in Memramcook.
