Edmée "Mai" Gosselin, 103, of Auberge du
Soleil in Dieppe, passed away on Wednesday August 18, 2021 at the Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in La Pirogue, she was the daughter of the
late George and Joséphine (Doiron)
O’Brien.
Mai was a founding member of the Christ-Roi Golden Age Club.
She loved to play darts and bridge. She was a volunteer, preparing
many meals for different occasions, in the kitchen at the Golden Age
Club.
She is survived by seven children: Monique LeBlanc (Hugh
Jones) of Pointe-du-Chêne, Jocelyne Gosselin-MacFarlane
(Bruce) of Toronto, ON, Murielle DiDomenicantonio (Bernardino) of
Riverview, Huguette Grant (Reg Gallant), Pierrette McKnight (Joe), and
Nicole Bastarache (Gary), all of Moncton, and Gaëtane
Gosselin (Peter Fraser) of Dieppe; 11 grandchildren: Lyanne, Adrieno,
Nadine, Cynthia, Natalie, David, Stephanie, Jayson, Jessica, Erika,
and Julie; 11 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Lila, Avery, Macklen,
Massimo, Christian, Gia, Cruze, Stanley, Charlie, and Blake; four
sisters: Beatrice Ingram (late Hector), Jeannette Gautreau (late
George), Dorice Place (Wayne), Alice Davis (Ray); three brothers:
Raymond (Thérèse), Hubert (Shelagh), and George
(Lynn); as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Alyre (1981); two
sons-in-law: Hubert LeBlanc and Tony Grant; three sisters: Laura
(Alderic Gosselin), Alice, and Alma (Howard Doucette); five brothers:
Léonard (Hélène), Edouard, Henri
(Renée), Tim (Laurida), and Antoine
(Barbara).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (506-858-1900) on Sunday
from 2-4 and 7-9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Christ-Roi R.C. church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Monday August
23 at 11 am. At the family’s request, face
coverings are required and social distancing regulations are in
effect. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
