Maria Caissie, 96, of Moncton, passed away on Tuesday August 17, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Malakoff, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edna (Dupuis) Melanson.

She is survived by two daughters: Annette and Andréa, both of Moncton; two sons: Camille (Roberte) of Dieppe and Gerry (Ruth) of Riverview; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clovis; two daughters: Germaine (Camille) and Noëlla; three sons: Léo-Pold (Patsy), Gérald, and Ronald; four sisters: Rose-Ida, Corinne, Béatrice, and Hélène; five brothers: Henri, Alfred, Marcel, Aquila, and René.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Friday August 20 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Friday from 2 pm until time of funeral. Due to a family member’s low immune system and at the family’s request, face coverings and social distancing regulations are mandatory. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Maria, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation (Renal Care or Cardiologie) would be appreciated.
