Estelle Cormier, 81, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Aldéric and Suzanne (Caissie) LeBlanc.

Estelle was a career woman who taught passionately for 35 years.  Her work ethic and professionalism helped her gain the respect of her peers and students.  She had a drive for adventure that led her away from her hometown early in life to teach in Fredericton for several years until relocating to Moncton.

Estelle was also a very generous individual and would often contribute to her community through various functions or volunteering in different groups and organisations.  She was always willing to lend a hand to people in need and was very giving.

In her retirement, Estelle remained very active.  Among her many passions, she would often be found entertaining friends and family at her home or at the summer cottage.  No one would leave without having a delicious meal and listening to music.  She would always have her guitar on-hand and ready.  Estelle also loved to travel the world and would either be flying off to a foreign country or spending her winters in Florida.

Estelle also enjoyed the outdoors as well as sporting activities such as curling, skiing, and walking.  Amongst her many interests, she also had an appreciation for fashion and, as such, was always dressed well for the occasion.

She lived life to its fullest and enjoyed the moments spent with her family and her three precious grandsons.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great friend, and aunt to many.

She is survived by two children: Charline Cormier-Auffrey (Michel) of Dieppe, and Denis (Margaret Donnelly) of Nova Scotia; three grandchildren: Sébastien, Samuel and Gabriel; seven sisters: Marie (Eric Landry) of Cap-Pelé, Carmella (Lawrence LeBlanc) and Denise (Elmo Girouard), both of Sainte-Anne-de-Kent, Bernadette (late Yvon Blais) and Aline (Rhéal Mallet), both of Bouctouche, Juliette (late Vallier Duguay) of Riverview, and Raymonde (Maurice Cormier) of Saint-Antoine; two brothers: Father Léopold Leblanc of St-Édouard, and Gérard of Windsor, ON; as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jean-Charles (2006); one sister, Rachel; and two brothers: Bernard and Royal.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday July 29th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Friday July 30 at 10:30 am. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 100 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. Interment will be in Sainte-Anne-de-Kent. In memory of Estelle, a contribution to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
