Marilyn (Ryan) Légère Born October 16th, 1950, in Moncton, passed away peacefully on July 24th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 50 years, Gérard Légère of Saint-André-LeBlanc, her children Natalie Légère (Carl Fulton) of Lakeville, Ryan Légère (Tanya Downer) of Calgary, AB, and her grandchildren, who she adored, Kayla, Trisha, Mary & Walter.

Marilyn is survived by one sister Carole Ryan (Charles Goguen) of Moncton and five brothers; Gordon (Cécile Bourque) of Grand-Barachois, Danny (Janita Léger) of Shediac, Gary (Berthe Boudreau) of Bas Cap-Pelé, Kevin (Yvette Cormier) and Wayne both of Saint-André-LeBlanc.

Marilyn will also be missed by her sisters-in-law; Claudette Elliot (Ken) of Cap-Pelé, Jeffrine Walton, of Petit-Cap, and brothers-in-law; Valerie Légère of Dieppe and Aurele (Viola) of Petit-Cap. As well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members, Alma Thibodeau of Memramcook, Marc LeBlanc of Petit-Cap, and Kristynn LeBlanc of Dieppe.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Thérèse (Goguen) Ryan.

Marilyn enjoyed traveling, something she did a lot of over the years, with travels to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, most of the Caribbean islands, several countries in Central America and Florida. Visits to Florida and Disney World held a special place in her heart. For Marilyn, Disney World always brought out the child in her and she never tired of going. Marilyn also enjoyed reading. She always travelled with several books and never failed to buy more. After all, one must never run out of good books to read!  She loved to socialize with her closest friends: Jeannine & Paul Babineau, Stella & Roger Bourgoin, Charlotte & Bernard LeBlanc, Solange & Emery Léger, and Kathy & Dan Stote. She also hosted many family gatherings throughout the years and on holidays. She loved spending time with her family.

Her husband and family give deep felt thanks to all those who extended their kindness, generosity, help, care, and love to Marilyn during her illness.

We thank the medical staff of the Dr. Georges-L-Dumont Hospital, the Oncology center, and ward 4D for their compassion and attentiveness and to the special people in the Palliative care unit 3C who made this period in all our lives a little easier.

A special thank you to Dr. Pierre Whitlock, oncologist, for being kind, helpful, and caring.

Marilyn taught us simplicity, love, and forgiveness by the way she lived her life.

Rest in Peace Marilyn. You are forever loved and remembered by us all.
