Hector Pothier, 89, of Moncton, passed away on Friday July 9,
2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in
Sainte-Anne-du-Ruisseau, NS, he was the son of the late Léo
and Zoé (Lefave) Pothier.
Hector had worked as a construction engineer for Bechtel Co.
as well as an administrator in construction management. He retired
with the Environment Department for the government of Alberta. He was
a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus - Council 11985 -
St-Alphonse-de-Ligouri.
He is survived by his wife, Elva Robichaud; two sons: Michael
and Christopher, both of Alberta; one step-daughter, Lisa Pelletier of
Ottawa, ON; one step-son, Jacques Pelletier of Ontario; one
step-daughter-in-law, Rachel Durelle of Baie-Sainte-Anne; five
step-grandchildren: Kyle, Samantha, Janessa, Emma, and Jean-Claude
Jr.; three step-great-grandchildren: Alexi, Chase, and Mason; as well
as his nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his step-daughter, Nicole
Pelletier.
In accordance to his wishes, there will be no visitation at
the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. Church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Monday
August 9 at 10:30 am. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required
and a maximum participation of 75 people at a time with social
distancing regulations are in effect. In memory of Hector, a
contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be
appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of
