Gerald Alfred Roy, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at
The Moncton Hospital on Friday July 2, 2021. Born in Petit-Rocher, he
was the son of the late Théodore and Emélie
(Robichaud) Roy.
Prior to his retirement, Gerald was employed by Viking Fire
Protection Inc. where he was superintendent for 42 years. He was also
a member of the Champlain Mall Walking Club. He enjoyed spending time
at his trailer in Shediac. He also enjoyed spending time visiting with
friends for coffee at the mall.
Gerald will be sadly missed by his wife of 24 years, Rose
(LeBlanc) Roy; his two daughters: Christianne Roy of Moncton, and Line
Roy of Île Perrot, QC; his son, Donald Roy of Ville LaSalle,
QC; two grandchildren: Valérie Roy and
Jean-François Méthot of Île Perrot,
QC; one sister, Jeannette Roy of Montréal QC; one brother,
Albert (Lise) of St-Michel-des-Saints, QC; as well as his nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters:
Augusta Héroux, Paula Granito, and Rina Boucher; three
brothers: Alfred, Armand and Emile, all of
Montréal.
As per Gerald’s wishes, there will be no visitation
or funeral service. Interment will be at Our Lady of Calvary cemetery,
Dieppe. Donations in Gerald’s memory may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are in the professional
care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton
(858-1900).
