John Doucette, 80, of Moncton
and formerly of Notre-Dame, passed away following a long battle with
cancer on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC.
Born in Tignish, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Patrick and Agnes
(Arsenault) Doucette.
John was a 4th Degree Knight of
Columbus and an avid bowler.
He will be sadly missed by his
wife of 59 years, Roberte Girouard Doucette; two sons: Rick (Lynda) of
Moncton, and Paul (Lillianne) of Notre-Dame; four grandchildren of
whom he was very proud: Lisa (Jason), whom he raised and considered
his own, Tina, Chris, and Chad; five great-grandchildren: Daniel,
Felix, Isabelle, Janelle, and Olivia; one brother, Cyril (Betty) of
Moncton; one sister, Patricia Williams (Allison) of Springhill,
P.E.I.; his godson, Mike, his goddaughter, Dianne and one
sister-in-law, Thérèse Doucette of Tignish,
P.E.I.
Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by his 18-month old daughter, Lisa; two brothers: Paul and
Nelson; two sisters: Olive Desroches and Thérèse
Boucher.
The family would like to thank
the Moncton Hospital oncology department where he received the best
care, as well as the Extra-Mural for their visits and
support.
The family will receive
condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church
Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday from 1 pm until
2 pm followed by a private family funeral by invitation only.
Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum
participation of 100 people at a time with social distancing
regulations are in effect. The funeral service will be streamed live;
to view the funeral, go to his obituary on our Website on Monday July
5, 2021 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Notre-Dame parish
cemetery.

contribution to the NB Doctors Cycling Against Cancer or the CHU
Dumont Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) would be
