Pierre "Canou" Gallant, 59, of Shediac, passed away as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Friday June 11, 2021. Born in Moncton, he was the son of Mathilda Gallant of Shediac and the late Allan Gallant.

Very generous, Canou was always willing to help anybody in need. He was a draftsman by trade.

Besides his mother, he will be sadly missed by a sister, Bernice Gallant of Shediac; a brother, Mike (Denise) of Haute-Aboujagane; three godsons: Cody, Alex and Jacob, as well as two nieces, Nadine and Cynthia.

He was predeceased by his spouse, Claudette Gaudet.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297) on Friday June 18, 2021, from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Joseph’s R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Saturday June 19, 2021, at 11 am. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 120 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on Pierre’s obituary on our website by the end of the day.
