Normand Ouellette, 75, of Cap-Pelé, passed away at his residence on Friday June 11, 2021. Born in Petit-Cap, he was the son of the late Odias and Irène (Doiron) Ouellette.
Normand enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also believed in working hard. After a career in accounting with Landry Fuels and Adrice Cormier Ltd, he partnered up with his father-in-law to cofound a company they named Gaudet & Ouellette Ltd. In 1981, after the passing of his father-in-law, Normand became the sole owner of their company. Regardless of his illness, the last few years, he still came to his office daily. He really had a passion for the fisheries and gave a lot of his time to expand the smoked herring industry.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 52 years, Marie née Gaudet; two daughters: Brigitte Ouellette (Roger LeBlanc) of Saint-Antoine and Joline Ouellette (Raymond Cormier) of Cocagne; his siblings: Valérie (Léola) of Cap-Pelé, Léo (Désanges) of Dieppe, Alida Gauvin (Gilles) of Québec and Sr. Bernadette Ouellette NDSC of Moncton; one grand-daughter, Marissa; one step-grandson, Sébastien; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters: Léona and Virginie; three brothers: Philippe Odias and Eric.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm ONLY. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect.
The funeral mass will be celebrated in Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 10:30 am. Due to the pandemic, there is a limit of 200 people for funeral mass with social distancing regulations are in effect.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to his personal caregiver, Benoit Landry who spent countless hours with Normand. Also to Edgar, Anise, Lucie and the nurses of the Extra-Mural Hospital for their care and compassion towards Normand.
In memory of Normand, a contribution to the "Boîte à Lunch" Cap-Pelé or the Parkinson Society would be appreciated.
