Dr. Yves-Martin Robichaud, 69, of Shediac NB passed away peacefully on June 6, 2021 surrounded by loved ones.

Yves-Martin Robichaud is survived by his loving wife Carmel Belliveau, her son Sean Fahey (Jenny Nguyen), his daughters Emilie Gould-Robichaud (Mark Bigault), Valérie (Matthew Soosalu), his son Damien (Sophie Ashe), and two beloved grandchildren Isabelle and Alexander Bigault. He is also survived by his dear mother Jeannine, sister Dr. Marie-Josée Robichaud (Dr. Pierre Lévesque), brother Dr. Louis-Marcel Robichaud (Dr. Raymonde DeGrâce), his in-laws, and numerous nieces and nephews including Dr. Martin Lévesque and Dr. Mireille Lévesque.

He was predeceased by his father Dr. Alphée M. LeBlanc, and his two younger siblings Nicole and Jean-Marc.

Yves-Martin Robichaud began his undergraduate studies at the Université de Moncton in arts and at the University of Ottawa in science before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic in 1979 at Palmer College, in Davenport, Iowa. In 2020, he was awarded for 40 years of clinical practice after a dedicated career in Shediac, NB, and Charlottetown, PEI.

Yves-Martin was a man who always had a book in hand. He read for pleasure, for learning, and for discovery. When the bay was not frozen, Yves-Martin enjoyed sailing in Shediac and across the Northumberland Strait. His summers were spent with family and friends in Cap-Pelé, and cycling in nearby trails. His winter hobbies included cross-country skiing, travelling, and building wooden boats from small model boats to the boats he used to teach his children how to sail. He embarked on remarkable adventures including his cycling trip to the Himalayas of Nepal and sailing voyages on the Atlantic Ocean.

He dedicated his leisure time to many causes in his community. Yves-Martin gave back to sports in his community as the Sailing School Director at the Shediac Bay Yacht Club, and as a minor hockey aid in Shediac for many years. He was also passionate about Acadian history and he served as President of the Société historique de la mer Rouge for several years.

Yves-Martin will forever be in our hearts and cherished in our memories as an exceptional man, loving husband, father figure, insightful big brother, caring son, loyal friend, avid sailor, highly regarded professional, and enthusiast of sports, arts, and history. Yves-Martin had a strong presence that left a lasting positive impact on everyone who knew him.
