Sister Stella Cormier (Sr. Marie-Edmonde), ndsc, of
Maison-mère des Religieuses
Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Moncton, passed away following a
lengthy illness on Thursday May 20, 2021, at the convent where she
resided. She was 87 years old and in the 69th
year of her religious life. Born in Saint-Paul-de-Kent, she was the
daughter of the late Edmond and Lina (Dionne) Cormier.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by two sisters:
Anita Bourgeois (Armand) of Dieppe and Phyllis Maillet
(Léandre) of Massachussetts; one brother, Oscar (Lorette)
of Shediac; two sisters-in-law: Élodie Cormier of Dieppe
and Clara Cormier of Moncton; as well as several nephews and
nieces.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by six sisters:
Yvonne Albert (Clovis), Dorice Belliveau (Éric), Sr
Florence ndsc, Émélie LeBlanc
(Léonard), Sr Jeannine ndsc, and infant Jeannine; four
brothers: Yvon (Dorice), Adélard, Henri and infant
Joseph.
Sister Stella will be resting at Frenette Funeral and
Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday May
24 from 2 to 4 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are
required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with
social distancing regulations are in effect. A private funeral mass
will be celebrated in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Religieuses
de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton on Tuesday May 25
at 10h. The funeral mass will be streamed live; to view the funeral,

Memramcook.
