Benoite Gautreau, 95, of Shediac
Bridge, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2021 at The Moncton Hospital.
Born in Shediac, she was the daughter of the late Ulric and Marceline
(Boudreau) LeBlanc.
Prior to her retirement, she was a
teacher in School District 11 schools. She had taught music in Minto
while she was a member of the Religieuses
Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur congregation until her
retirement. She continued to teach piano with passion until
recently. Her students considered her as a mother, a role
she took seriously, taking them under her wing to shower them with her
love.
She is survived by one sister,
Jeannine Robichaud (late Dr Yves) of Cap-Pelé; as well as
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Dr. Paul Gautreau (2019); three sisters: Sr. Yvette ndsc, Fernande and
Raymonde; three brothers: Yves (late Carmel), Bertin and
Fernand.
The family will receive condolences
at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac
(532-3297) on Wednesday May 12 from 7 to 9 and Thursday May 13 from
10:30 am until time of departure (11:15). Due to the
pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social
distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the
funeral centre at any given point during
visitation.
The funeral mass will be celebrated
at St-Joseph R.C. Church, 415 Main Street, Shediac on Thursday May 13
at 11:30 am. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are
required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in
effect. Limit of 110 people in the funeral centre at any given point
during visitation. Interment will be in parish
cemetery. In memory of Benoite, a contribution to the Friends of The
Moncton Foundation or the Vestiaire St-Joseph of Shédiac
would be appreciated.
