

Gerald ʺBuddyʺ Hynes, 91, of Moncton passed away peacefully on Saturday April 24, 2021 following a short battle with cancer. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Douthwright) Hynes.
He is survived by his son, Jamie, and daughter-in-law Josette; his grandchildren: Catherine (Brendon) and Patrick, his grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved to go watch their sporting events as they were growing up. He also leaves to mourn a brother-in-law, sisters-in-laws, as well as several nieces and nephews.
His passion was boxing and golf and was a huge Montreal Canadian Fan. Buddy was second generation of running Hynes Restaurant. He enjoyed greeting customers at the door in later years. Out of respect of Buddy the restaurant will be closed on Tuesday April 27, 2021.

He was predeceased by his wife, Dorine (LeBlanc) Hynes (2016); his brother, Vincent (late Rita).
As per Buddy’s wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home, a private funeral service will be held at a later date due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Moncton Food Bank, Moncton SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
