Leonne Marie Lina Doiron, 75, of Grand Barachois NB, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on March 3, 2021, at her home with family by her side. 

Leonne was born in Barachois to the late Edgar and Ella (Brun) Doiron. She lived her life surrounded by a large and extended family.  She loved her Acadian heritage, her faith, and her community.  Grand Barachois was her home, a place she loved, a place she cherished and cared for with her generosity and kindness. Leonne was a wonderful, deeply loved woman who will be greatly missed and will always be held in highest regard. 

She was extremely proud and to be a part of the "Eglise historique du Barachois" the church committee and volunteering at the local school. Everyone who knew her all shared the same sentiment, Leonne was thoughtful, selfless, and so helpful. 

Leonne’s family was the center of her life.  Her daughter, granddaughter and great grandson were her heart and joy.  Our "Marraine" as she was called by her niece and great nieces, was an amazing daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mom, stepmom, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and loyal friend. 

We will remember this exceptional woman for her warm smile, tight hugs, and forever lasting love.  As God created angels to live for eternity, we can take comfort knowing our beloved angel will continue to watch over us from the heavens. 

Leonne is survived by her daughter, Brenda Doiron (Sandy Whyte); her granddaughter, Maxine McLelland (Matthew Hicks), great grandson Malik Hicks; her stepdaughter, Linda Gould (Ken); her brothers, August, Ovide (Carol), Norman (Carmel) and Marcel (Bernice); her sister, Florence Doiron (Jean-Paul); and by several nieces and nephews. 

Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Yvon. 

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street. Shediac (532-3297) on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 2-4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm ONLY.  Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the funeral centre at any given point during visitation. 

The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Henri R.C. Church, 1356 Route 133, Grand Barachois on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 10:30 am. Due to the pandemic, limit of 90 people for the Funeral Mass, face coverings are required, and social distancing regulations are in effect. Interment will be in St Henri parish cemetery.
