Marie Laura Bastarache, of Saint-Antoine formerly of Cocagne, passed away peacefully at the age of 99 at the Foyer Saint-Antoine on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Born in Saint-François, she was the daughter of the late Jean and Élise (Robichaud) Colette.

She worked at Humphry Mills and E.P. Melanson lobster processing plant.

She is survived by three sons: Donald (Ginette) and Gilles (Élodie) all of Cocagne and Adrien of Saint-Antoine; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Alyre (1989); one sister, Adeline Léger; seven brothers: Albert, Arthur, Damien, Néri, Théodore, Daniel and Donat.

The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum of 25 people at a time during visitation with social distancing regulations are in effect.

The private funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Pierre R.C. Church, Cocagne. The funeral service will be streamed on her obituary by the end of the day Friday, February 26, 2021. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
