It is with great sadness that the family of Loretta Babin, 89, of Résidence O Bons Soins in Shediac and formerly of Moncton, announce her passing on Thursday February 18, 2021 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Yvon and Yvonne (Gaudet) Gauvin.

Prior to her retirement, she had worked at Eaton’s and at the Moncton Coliseum concessions.

She is survived by one daughter, Lise Cormier (Gilles) of Shediac; one son, Maurice of Moncton; five grandchildren: Mathieu, Brittany, Véronique, Joel, and Isabelle; three great-grandchildren: Miles, Jasmine, and Kory; three sisters: Aurore Breau (late Yvon) and Bern Breau (Don), both of Grand-Barachois, and Josette Melanson (late Lloyd) of Dieppe; one brother, Valmond (Annette) of Dieppe; three sisters-in-law: Diane Gauvin, Roberte Gauvin and Corinne Gauvin; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar (1995); one son, Ronald; one sister, Yolande (Léo); three brothers: Ulysse, Armand and Néri.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) where the funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday June 24 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Thursday from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In memory of Loretta, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
