At the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC, on Thursday, January 7,
2021, with his family at his bedside, Roméo Langis passed
away at the age of 82 years old. Born in Moncton, he was the son of
the late Valerie and Juliette (Boudreau) Langis.
Romeo was born in Moncton, the eldest of 6 children. He
attended the Juvénat as a teenager. He joined the Air Force
for 3 years. He married Cecile in 1963. He worked for Toledo scales,
Atlantic Data Supplies as well as the Moncton Airport.
Roméo was well loved, easy to get along with and
never complained. He enjoyed camping, golfing, travelling and puzzles
on his iPad. He also took great pleasure in making and fixing things
such as converting a bread delivery van into a family camper and
building a gazebo for lounging the evening away. He was a member of
the Knights of Columbus in Shédiac NB for over 40 years. He
also volunteered with the Vestiaire St-Joseph de Shédiac
for many years. He was a member of the Paroisse St-Joseph,
Shédiac NB for his entire life and devoted many hours
helping where needed.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Cécile (Belliveau),
Shédiac NB; his two sons: Gilles (Sylvie), Ottawa, ON and
Roland, Shédiac NB; his two grandsons: Éric,
Ottawa ON and Patrick, Montréal QC. He also leaves his
siblings: Georges (Zen), Québec QC, Rhéal (late
Lena), London, ON, Guy (Debbie) Moncton, NB, and Francine (Laurie),
Rogersville, NB, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Apart from his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter,
Janice (1967), his brother, Jean-Louis and his sister-in-law,
Lena.
As per Roméo’s wishes
there will be no visitations at the funeral home. Funeral mass will be
celebrated at St. Joseph RC Church, 415 Main Street Shediac on
Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 11h00. Face coverings are voluntary at
church.
