Joseph Yvon Leblanc passed away at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC Sunday, December 13 after his battle with lung cancer. He was born on August 19, 1943 in Scoudouc. His father passed away when he was only 7 years old. His mother Alma (Belliveau) re-married Eddie Leger of St-Paul.
Yvon had to get used to sharing his mother with six step-brothers and step-sisters. At the age of 18, he followed his older brother Ulysse into the Canadian Army. After leaving the Canadian Army, he joined his family to Massachusetts. Yvon and his younger brother, Normand enlisted with United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his discharge he worked in Massachusetts. He came back to Canada to visit his mother and stepfather in St-Paul, where he met his wife, Yvette. Their time together was a work/travel adventure. They would set-up roots anywhere there was music. While living in northern Florida he enlisted in the Florida Army National Guards. He was recruited to go to Kuwait during Desert Storm. His passion was playing music with musician friends. He had a big heart full of life. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Yvette née Devarennes; one brother, Ulysse and his wife Gloria of Pincher Creek, AB; two step-brothers: Zoel (Rose), New Durham, NH, and Aurele (May), Carver, MA; one step-sister, Lucie (Robert), Leominister, MA; two nephews: Normand and Roger; two nieces: Lorraine and Marion, as well as many step-nephews, step-nieces, and cousins.
