It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Lauza Lajoie (née LeBlanc), at the age of 90 years old, on Wednesday December 9, 2020 at the Villa du Repos in Moncton. Born in St-Antoine, she was the daughter of the late Henri and Azélie (Goguen) LeBlanc.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Serge (Murielle), Hervé (Rose), Ginette (Ben), Guy (Marie-Thérèse), Guylaine (Ron), and Diane (Raymond); her 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Alfreda and Sr. Jeannette ndsc; her brothers: Alfred, Donat, and Joseph; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Claude (July 2020); her son, Mario (1995); her sister, Bernadette; and her brother, Norbert.

A loving mother and unparalleled wife, Lauza was her husband Claude's right-hand person in the family business. She was the one her husband called "the poutine tester" when came the time to experiment with new potatoes. Our mother was never very far from us. She knew how to spoil us well with our favorite dishes. The most remarkable thing about our mother was her passion for fashion. Always well dressed, even from a young age, she had a nose to coordinate her outfits and those of her children. It was often said that Mam was dressed like a fashion card.

We would like to sincerely thank Unit 400 at Villa du Repos for their exceptional service. Everyone we met during her stay at the residence were people with compassion and very attentive to the care of our mother. Thank you also to everyone who has been present in her life, whether a friend or a caregiver. You made her life more beautiful by your presence.

The family will receive condolences at the St-Antoine l’Ermite R.C. church, 24 Église Avenue, St-Antoine, on Monday December 14 from 6 to 6:45 pm only. Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing regulations are in effect. The private funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Antoine l’Ermite R.C. Church. Interment will be in parish cemetery. The funeral will be videotaped and posted Tuesday on her obituary on our Website.

Since the pandemic, we are all going through difficult times, but some families are more affected than others. That being said, if you want to make a donation in memory of Lauza, we suggest that you help out your local food bank. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
