Roger Paul LeBlanc, 83, of Villa du Repos in Moncton, and formerly of Soudouc, passed away on Tuesday December 1, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Malakoff, he was the son of the late Stanislas and Rose-Ida (Melanson) LeBlanc.

Roger Paul was a teacher for 35 years and retired at École Clément-Cormier where he had taught French and drama. He was the author of several plays and two novels, and was the first Acadian author to publish a novel on the Internet.

He is survived by his wife for 53 years, Gabrielle née Pitre; three children: Pierre Philippe LeBlanc of Moncton, Mireille LeBlanc (Jules Comeau) of Scoudouc, and Mathieu LeBlanc (Colette) of Dieppe; two grandchildren: Alex and Chloé; two sisters: Ella Léger (Edmond) of Boudreau-Ouest and Yolande Thivierge (Gilles) of Shediac; two brothers: Louis (Benoîte) of Haute-Aboujagane and Robert (Carmelle) of Scoudouc; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a young daughter, Madeleine; one sister, Jeannette; two brothers: Donald and Clarence.

By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The private funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Interment will be in St-Jacques-le-Majeur cemetery in Scoudouc.
