Edward LeBlanc, 94, of Grand-Barachois, passed
away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in
Dupuis Corner, he was the son of the late Philippe and Marguerite
(Léger) LeBlanc.
Before his retirement, he was the maintenance
foreman at Continental Can for 33 years. He was a member of the
4th degree Knights of Columbus and a member of
the Golden Age Club in Grand-Barachois. He also volunteered at the
Grand-Barachois Hall for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Andréa
LeBlanc; two children: Donald (Janet) of Orangeville, ON and Diane
Cormier (Jean-Guy) of Hanwell, NB; three sisters: Annie Vautour (late
Émile) of New Hampshire, US, Clara LeBlanc (late Azore) of
Truro, NS, and Jeannine Boudreau (late Alvin) of Cap-Pelé;
son in-law, Ian Cromarty from Cambridge, ON; six grandchildren; five
great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Alfreda
LeBlanc (1964); a daughter, Denise Cromarty; four sisters: Louisa
Babineau, Corinne LeBlanc, Désanges LeBlanc and an infant
sister, Thérèse.
By request there will be no visitation. The
funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 22 at St-Henri de
Barachois R.C. Church, 1356 route 133, Grand-Barachois at 10 am.
Due to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a
maximum participation of 70 people with social distancing regulations
are in effect. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and
the video will be available on his obituary on our Website at the end
of the day. Interment will be in St-Henri de Barachois cemetery,
Grand-Barachois at a later
date.
In memory of Edward, a
contribution to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would
be appreciated. Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the
direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac
(532-3297).
