It
is with great sadness that the family of Rhéal Belliveau,
79, of Moncton, announce his passing following a courageous battle
with cancer, on Monday November 2, 2020, surrounded by his loving
family at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Léger-Corner
(Dieppe), he was the son of the late Edgar and Adrienne (LeBlanc)
Belliveau.
Rhéal spent most of his
working career with Fina and Petro Canada. He volunteered countless
hours with the Ray of Hope Needy Kitchen and the Christ-Roi parish. He
loved playing cards, was a loyal member at Lakeside Golf and Country
Club and a proud fan of the Montréal
Canadiens.
He
is survived by his wife for 55 years, Annette née Richard;
two children: Ginette Pineau (John) of Dieppe and Denis (Sarah) of
Perth, Australia; three special grandchildren whom he adored: Justin,
Sophie, and Luc; three sisters: Ida Doucet (late Léonard),
Roberte B. Melanson (late Paul) and Camilla Boudreau
(Léonard), all of Dieppe; two brothers: Adrien (Jeanette)
of Dieppe and Alfred "Fred" (Pauline) of Moncton; two
sisters-in-law: Jeannette (late Edgar) and Della (late
Léonard), both of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents; he was predeceased
by two sisters: Alma Richard (Hervé), and Pauline Richard
(late Gérard); two brothers: Edgar, Léonard, and
infant Antoine.
The family will receive
condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church
Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Due
to the pandemic, face coverings are required and a maximum
participation of 50 people at a time with social distancing
regulations are in effect. The funeral mass will be celebrated at
Christ-Roi R.C. Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Friday
November 6 at 2:30 pm with a maximum of 100 people. The funeral mass
will be videotaped, and the video will be available on his obituary on
our Website at the end of the day.
In
lieu of flowers, a contribution in memory of Rhéal, to Ray
of Hope Needy Kitchen and the Friends of the Moncton Hospital
Foundation (palliative care) would be
appreciated.
