Sister Yvonne Chiasson (Sr. Marie-Cécile-Yvonne), ndsc, of Moncton, passed away following a lengthy illness on Wednesday September 23, 2020, at the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur. She was 91 years old and in the 74nd year of her religious life. Born in New Waterford, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Cécile (Chiasson) Chiasson.
Besides her religious family, she is survived by one brother, George (Lynne Furlong) of Toronto, ON, as well as four nieces and two nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Genesta (Donald Shatford) and Cécile (Charles Gouett).
Sister Yvonne will be resting at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday September 27 from 2 to 4 pm only. Face coverings are required for visitation and social distancing regulations are in effect. A private funeral mass will be celebrated in the chapel of the Motherhouse of the Religieuses de Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Moncton on Monday September 28. The funeral mass will be videotaped, and the video will be available on her obituary on our Website at the end of the day. Interment will be in Memramcook.
