Paul-Émile Cormier, 86, of
Moncton, passed away on Sunday August 30, 2020 at the Dr.
Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Memramcook East, he was the son of the
late Emile and Ozithe (LeBlanc) Cormier.
Prior to his retirement,
Paul-Émile worked at CFB Supply Depot #5 as a station
engineer and a carpenter. With his great passion for Belgian horses,
he earned many top prizes. He was an avid farmer in Memramcook for
many years including blueberries.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years,
Olive née LeBlanc; six children: Denise Gallant
(Gérard "Jerry) of Scoudouc, Gilles "Rocky"
and Rhéal, both of Moncton, Norman (Paulette) of Dieppe,
Linda LeBlanc-Richard (Claude) of Memramcook, and Bernard (Lise) of
Riverview; 10 grandchildren: Serge, Daniel, Amy, Lisa, Mathieu,
Michel, Marc, Justine, Robert, and Stéphanie; seven
great-grandchildren: Jessie, Andrew, Catherine, Joshua, Bradley, Zara,
and Kalie; two sisters: Juliette Breau (late Léandre) of
Moncton, and Jeannette Brun (Charles) of St-Joseph; one sister-in-law,
Claudette Cormier of St-Joseph; one brother-in-law, Donald Gautreau of
Memramcook; as well as his nieces and
nephews.
He was predeceased by one infant grandson,
Denis; one sister, Bernice; and one brother,
Alonzo.
The family will receive condolences at
Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton
(858-1900) on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm only. Due to the
pandemic, face coverings are required for visitation and social
distancing regulations are in effect. Limit of 50 people in the
funeral centre at any given point during visitation. The funeral mass
will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, 220 St. George
Street, Moncton on Thursday September 3 at 11 am. The funeral mass
will be videotaped and the video will be available on his obituary on
our Website by the end of the afternoon. In memory of
Paul-Émile, a contribution to the CHU Dumont Foundation
(oncology) would be appreciated.
