Alice Melanson, 90, of Scoudouc, passed away on Thursday April 9, 2020 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC. Born in Ste-Anne-de-Kent, she was the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Élise (LeBlanc) Babineau.

She is survived by three daughters: Gisèle Mazerolle (Carl) and Anise Melanson (Yvon Savard), both of Scoudouc, and Bernice Melanson (Murray Bullerwell) of Yarmouth, NS; four sons: Clarence, Marcel (Marie Vautour), and Reginald "Minou", all of Shediac, and Roland (Armande) of Rogersville; six grandchildren: Peggy, Kevin, Michelle, Monique, Janika, and Jessie; three sisters: Jeannita LeBlanc (late Frank) of Grande-Digue, Marie-Jeanne Poirier (Robert) of Moncton, and Yolande Melanson (Angelo) of Shediac River; as well as several nieces, nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her mother’s second husband, Lévis Collette; her husband, Jean Edouard "John" Melanson; one sister, Marie McGraw; one brother, Jaddus Babineau.

In light of the current Coronavirus pandemic and at the request of the family, a funeral service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in St-Jacques-le-Majeur cemetery, Scoudouc.

In memory of Alice, a contribution to the Vestiaire St-Joseph or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
