Évangéline Boudreau, 88, of Briarlea Serenity Living in Moncton, passed away on Wednesday April 1, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital due to complications following hip surgery. Born on January 16, 1932 in Beresford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eulalie (Degrâce) Pitre.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edouard Boudreau, and their nine children: Donald (Marc) of Montréal, QC, Diane Aucoin (Ray) of Moncton, Mona Haché (Jean) of Rexton, Murielle LeBlanc (Jean-Guy) of Irishtown, Denise Morrisey (Dave) of Moncton, Suzanne Boudreau (Mike) of Moncton, Jean-Paul Boudreau (Irene) of Sackville, Lise Mahoney (Mike) of Toronto, ON, and Sonia Boudreau (Tyler) of Ottawa, ON; 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by eight sisters and brothers.

Évangéline was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was dedicated to and proud of her large family. With an exceptional zest for life, she was also unstintingly supportive of others, spending many hours helping those in need and supporting her church. Her Acadian roots were another source of pride as she loved to celebrate her heritage playing the guitar and singing her favourite songs in French and English, often accompanied with a dance. She was dynamic, fearless and quick with a joke, inspiring many with her enthusiasm and drive.

In light of the current Coronavirus pandemic and at the request of the family, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family gathering will take place at a later date. In memory of Évangéline, an act of kindness towards the less fortunate would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).

Words of comfort and donations can be made at www.frenettefuneralhome.com.
