Elva Bourgeois, 95, formerly of Moncton, passed away peacefully following a short illness, on Wednesday March 25, 2020 at the Villa Providence in Shediac. Born on August 18, 1924 in Moncton, she was a beloved wife and loving mother, and oldest of 10 children of the late Adislas and Lina (LeBlanc) Cormier.

She will be dearly missed by three children: Anne-Marie Jones (John) of Moncton, Paulette Jamieson (Peter) of Picton, ON, and Roland "Rollie" (Marie) of Dieppe; one daughter-in-law, Carlene Bourgeois (late Maurice) of Ontario; four grandchildren: Michael (Selena), Natalie (Ryan), Denis (Pascaline), and Luc; five great-grandchildren: Chloé, Atticus, Cooper, Léo, and Raphaël; one sister, Pauline Laverdure (late Denis) of Montréal, QC; three sisters-in-law: Georgina Cormier and Ann Cormier, both of Moncton, and Geraldine Cormier of Dieppe; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Emile (2007); two sons: Maurice "Moe" and Donald "Donny"; three sisters: Huberte "Betty" Trudel (René), Helen Pyke (William), and Jeannette Belliveau (Donald); five brothers: Harvey, Omer, Eric (Marie), Arthur, and Jean-Paul.

By request, there will be no visitation at the funeral centre. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix R.C. church, 87 Murphy Avenue, Moncton on Thursday August 18 at 1 pm. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Elva, flowers will be gratefully accepted or a contribution to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are in the professional care of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church St Moncton (858-1900).
