It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Arlene May Girouard, 76, of Scotch Settlement, on Wednesday December 18, 2019. Born January 22, 1943 in Scotch Settlement, she was the loving daughter of the late Arthur and Della (Meredith) Crawford.

In 1974, she became the first female bus driver east of Winnipeg. She had tremendous pride in her work and the many friendships she formed with her passengers throughout her career. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Codiac Transit for almost 30 years.

She will be sadly missed by her partner and best friend, Bob King; her four children: Arthur, Nina (Dave), Jana, and Katherine (Robby); eight grandchildren: Shyla, Jennifer, Sarah, Natasha, Joseph, Emily, Jessica, and Jack; three great-grandchildren: Cole, Shamus, and Félix; one sister, Winnifred Forgacs; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by one sister, Florence Crawford; and one brother, Charles Crawford.

As per her wishes there will be no funeral service. In memory of Arlene, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Moncton (858-1900).
