Edward "Butch" Melanson, 71, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday December 1, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital. Born on May 29, 1948 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Steeves) Melanson.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Audrey (Pell); one daughter, Karen Melanson (Paul Pettipas) of Riverview; two sisters: Joyce Melanson (Jimmy Gaudet) and Florence Gallant (late Jimmy), both of Moncton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two sisters: Gladys and Jean; as well as two brothers: Henry and Allen.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral will be celebrated on Thursday December 5 at 4 pm. Visiting hours are Thursday from 2 pm until time of funeral. In memory of Edward, a contribution to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation (oncology) would be appreciated.
