Today, it is with sad emotions that we say good-bye to John who passed away peacefully, on Thursday, August 29th, 2019 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont UHC, surrounded by his loving family. Born in St-André, he was the son of the late Walter and Judith (Landry) Arsenault.
Before his retirement, he was employed with J. Hébert Brown construction. He was a member of the Golden Age Club, Cap-Pelé and the Club du Loisir de Saint-André-LeBlanc.
He is survived by his spouse of 70 years, Stéphanie (Donelle); one daughter, Jeannita Arsenault (Pierre Nadeau) of Fredericton; one son, Edgar (Maria) of Montreal; five sisters: Catherine Dessault of Montreal, Florine Cormier (Yvon Melanson) of Bas-Cap-Pelé, Cecile Brine of Cap-Pelé, Thérèse Léger (Roméo) of Shediac, Yvonne Surette of Salisbury; two sisters-in-law: Dora of Cap-Pelé, Lévina of Kitchener ON and a brother-in-law: Gilles Bois of Pointe-du-Chêne; five grandchildren: Erika, Vanessa, Denis, Danielle and Jan-Vincent; five great-grandchildren: Luka, Zak, Maïka, Benjamin and Dominic, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: Marie-Corinne Bourque, Gertrude Cormier, Juliette Bois, Claude, Gélas et Firmin.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Tuesday, September 3rdfrom 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday from 9:30 am to 10:15 am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R. C. church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Cap-Pelé.
In memory of John, a contribution to the Cap-Pelé cemetery or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
