Rollande Thérèse Léger, 67, of Cocagne, passed away, suddenly, to her paradise, Saturday evening, August 24, 2019, with her beloved cousin and life companion, Ginette Bourque, by her side.
She was the daughter of the late Jean and late Marie (née Leblanc) Léger, of Moncton. She spent the last 20 years enjoying life by the water in Cocagne, N.B. Rollande and her former partner, Mike Magee, raised three children, whom were the source of great pride for her. She leaves behind Jill Magee (Louis Sewina) of Île Perrot, Qué., Jessica Magee (Mark Schellenberg) of Vancouver, B.C., and Patrick Magee (Caroline Leroux) of Montréal, Qué. "Rollie" was a precious sister and second mom to her brothers: Everett Léger (Pauline Landry) of Cap-Bimet, N.B., and Roger Léger (Sandra Mitchell) of Dieppe, N.B. Her legacy lives on through her treasured grandchildren: Élise, Chloé, Gabriel, Benjamin, Miles, and Jade, who adored her and affectionately called her Mémère.
Rollande was a loyal and devoted person, a fun-loving mom, grandmother, sister and partner. She had a heart of gold and a very special quality of making people feel loved and important. She contributed greatly to her community as a close associate at Maison de la Santé, co-founder of Maison des Sources en Acadie, and was honoured by les Frères (FIC) as "Läique Engagée" (committed laity) for her countless contributions to the mission of Maison des Sources en Acadie. In addition, she initiated and was instrumental in the chorale "Éveil" at the Roman Catholic Church in Cocagne.
In her youth, she could outperform her two brothers in many sports. She was also blessed with a beautiful voice, rhythmical soul, and was a gifted percussionist.
The family will receive condolences at the Saint-Pierre Roman Catholic Church slumber room, 2000 Route 535, Cocagne on Monday, September 2, 2019, from 7-9 pm and on Tuesday September 3, 2019 from 2 pm until time of funeral mass celebrated at that same church at 4 pm. Interment will be at Our-Lady-of-Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe.
Following the religious service, the family invites everyone to share a light meal at Club 50 d’Âge d’Or, Villa Street in Cocagne, followed by a celebration of Rollande’s extraordinary life beginning at approximately 6 pm. Family, friends, musicians, chorus, and collaborators are all invited to commemorate, sing, laugh, shed a tear and share. Musical instruments, anecdotes, and testimonials will be welcome.

"You have given so much and asked for so little in return. You have been there for us all, have taught us so much by your actions. You have listened, helped and forgiven us, always paved the way for us and our well-being. We will all have to work very hard to reach the standard of love and care that you unselfishly set. Please guide us forever".
