Helene LeBlanc, 101, of the Villa Providence, Shediac, passed away on August 21, 2019. Born in Barachois NB, she was the daughter of the late Pierre Amédée Babineau and Marguerite (Boudreau) Babineau.

Helene was the last surviving member of her family. She is survived by her son, George (Lorraine) of Grand Barachois; one granddaughter, Natalie (Chris); one great grand-son, Felix; one sister in law, Geneva Babineau, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Helene was pre-deceased by her husband, Edouard; her son, Hervé; her daughter, Jeannette; five sisters: Marie Richard, Adrienne Bourque, Edna LeBlanc, Anna Melanson and Rita Martineau; eight brothers: Alfred, Léo, Hervé, Clarence, Gerard, Albert, Louis and Camille Babineau.

In her younger years, Helene was employed by Edmond Gagnon as well as Landry & Landry processing plants.

After retirement, she and her sister Marie quilted blankets for several years for the needy as well as the Oncology Department at the CHU Dumont hospital. She also enjoyed knitting and donated several hundred baby bonnets for newborns. She attended St. Henri de Barachois Roman Catholic Church in Barachois.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Friday August 23 from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri de Barachois R.C. church, 1356 Route 133, Grand-Barachois on Saturday August 24, 2019 at 10:30 am.

In memory of Helene, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society or to the CHU Dumont would be appreciated.
