Born in Cocagne, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Marie (Léger) Melanson.
She is survived by her three daughters, Odette LeBlanc Pellerin of Grande-Digue, Nicole LeBlanc of Moncton and Lisette Surette (Paul) of Moncton ; her son: Claude (Murielle) of Dieppe; her sister, Albertine LeBlanc of Moncton; her six grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews.

Muriel was a very sociable woman who loved visiting with family and friends. With her husband she enjoyed spending the winter months at St. Petersburg, Florida and summers at the cottage at Cap Bimet. In later years a trailer at Robichaud replaced the cottage. In addition to her beloved card games of 200, her hobbies included reading, crocheting and quilting.
The family is particularly grateful for the exceptional care provided by the staff at le Manoir Notre-Dame, la Villa Providence and la Villa du Repos. Also appreciated are the services of the three physicians who looked after her for so many years: Dr. William Taylor, Dr. Vicki Taylor and Dr. Christopher Gallant.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm only.
