Dr Paul E. Gautreau, BA, DC, practiced his profession since 1976. Recently retired, he has succumbed to a brief illness at the age of 91. He studied in Charlottetown, in Halifax seminary and at the Palmer College of Chiropractic. He was a champion of the downtrodden and the poor. He was attached to Minto where he worked and where he was an athlete and a supporter of the local youth.
He leaves his wife of 43 years, Benoite (LeBlanc) Gautreau of Shediac Bridge to mourn his good energy; his sister, Yvette Hanley and her family of Boston US, to mourn her brother’s passing. He will be missed as well by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his three sisters: Carmella Carens, Jacqueline Mann, Dorca Cowan and his two brothers, Father Camille Gautreau, Ret. Major and Judge Maurice Gautreau.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac on Tuesday, August 6th, from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm, Wednesday from 9:45 am to 10:45 am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph R. C. Church, 415 Main Street Shediac on Wednesday, August 7th at 11:00 am.
In memory of Paul, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
