Our dear and special mother, Edea LeBlanc passed away on July 18th, 2019 at the age of 102. The last living member of her family, she was the daughter of the late William and Élise (Bourgeois) Melanson.
Her family supported her till the end with the help of her angel and caregiver, Roberta Duguay. Edea’s smile and laughter were contagious. She brightened up a room with her presence. She was a faithful parishioner of Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila parish. She was a long-time member of the Shemogue Golden Age Club. Some of the club members jokingly called her "Mrs. Trudeau" for her fashionable attire.
She volunteered at the suppers and as a fundraiser, treated the card members with her delicious fudge every week. She enjoyed playing cards and was a beautiful quilter, completing her work with such perfect and precise stitching.
Edea will be greatly missed by her fours daughters: Florence Landry (François), Yolande Vautour (Joseph), Bernice Moss (Fred Melanson) and Charlene Cullen (Gary); a son: Ken (Priscille); son-in-law: Jean-Paul LeBlanc; 12 grandchildren: Russell, Mario, Marc, Kevin, Paul, Gilles, Rachelle, Colleen, Melissa, Jolene, Kyla and Monica; seven great-grandchildren Samuel, Jeremie, Justin, Tiffany, Joseph, Silas and Todd as well by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her spouse, Abbey; her son, Paul; her daughter, Doreen LeBlanc; her grandson, Todd; her son-in-law, Ken Moss and her sisters: Marie Martin, Émilienne Oliver, Florence Arsenault, Corinne McGraw and Bernadette LeBlanc.
