It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mme Irène Myers at George Dumont Hospital in Moncton, on June 12 at 12:22. She was surrounded by family and a few close friends.
After being a member of many choirs, singing with her sister Edith across the country, and performing at weddings and funerals in duet with Larry Leblanc, she became the director of the "Éveil" choir in Cocagne’s parish, a role that she continued to this day. In addition to her career as a librarian, she was an unparalleled organizer, seamstress, decorator, and most of all, singer. She loved people, and people loved her.
Daughter of Clarence Myers and Hélène Léger, she leaves behind her husband Marc Cloutier, her step-sons Nicolas (Whitney) and Michael Cloutier, her sister Edith (Pierre Moussette), her goddaughter Émilie, her nephew Philippe, her brother-in-law Ronald Martin and her nieces Lucia (Serge Dugas) and goddaughter Susan (David Leblanc). In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters Jeanne and Rita, as well as her brother Phillip.
The family will receive condolences in the viewing room of St-Pierre de Cocagne church, 2000 route 535, Cocagne, on Sunday June 16 from 2 to 4 pm and from 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral will be celebrated on Monday June 17 at 11 am at St-Pierre de Cocagne Church.
If desired, donations to the Canadian Lung Association (1-800-565-5864) in Irène’s memory would be appreciated.
Cremation and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, Shediac (532-3297).
