
Zita Marie Rioux, 89, wife of Napoléon Rioux, of Moncton, passed away on Sunday May 26, 2019 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. Born in Nigadoo, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Léon and Ida (Doucet) Doucet.
Zita devoted many hours as volunteer for 35 years at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital and previously at the Villa du Repos.
Besides her husband, Zita is survived by five children: Lynn and Renée (Robert LeBlanc) of Moncton, Gilles (Cynthia Cole) of Ottawa, Denis (Denise Roy) of Dieppe, Raymond (Lisa Millican) of New Maryland; 13 grandchildren: Rémi, Anie, Élise, Mitchell, Margo, Éric, Josée, Dominic, Joël, Isabo, Justin, Lynae, and Aiden; two great-grandchildren: Hendrix and Clara; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Normand, Hectorine, Anita, Léonille, Andréa, Alvin, Lucille, Georges, and Euclide.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Thursday from 7 to 9 only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Christ-Roi R.C. church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton on Friday May 31 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
