
Guy St-Pierre died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on May 19, 2019 in Moncton.
He was the son of the late Edgar St-Pierre and the late Yvonne Girouard.
He is survived by his loving and beloved wife Magella (nee Labrie); his four daughters, Anne, Lise (Saci Hebabi) and Pauline (Derek Flynn) of Ottawa and Nicole (Michel Doucette) of Dieppe; and his brother, Maurice St-Pierre (Claudette) of Montreal. He was predeceased by his brother Charles (Hélène) and his sister Marguerite (Raymond Lacombe).
He will be sadly missed by his six granddaughters: Myriam Hebabi (Lamine Mbengue), Ariane Doucette (Nicholas Sleptov), Monique Flynn, Renée Flynn (Jamie Boocock), Isabelle Cormier (Michel Cormier) and Caroline Doucette (Andréanne Hétu); and his great-grandson Babacar Mbengue.
He practiced for a few years in general medicine in Saint-Quentin and Edmundston, then spent the rest of his career in Fredericton as medical officer of health and as Chief Medical Adviser for Medicare. He was also greatly involved in Fredericton’s francophone community. He continued to be fully involved in his Moncton community after his retirement, including the Beauséjour Curling Club where he was still skip of his team in December 2018, while enjoying travel and cultural activities with his beloved wife.
The family will receive condolences at the Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm only. The funeral will take place on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 11:00 am at Christ Roi RC Church, 300 Dominion Street, Moncton.
