
Gerald "Gerry" Dollemont, 85, of Moncton, passed away peacefully after a brave battle with lung cancer on Saturday May 11, 2019 at his home.
Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Ellen (Hickey) Dollemont.
He worked for 45 years at Saint John News Co. Ltd. Until retiring at the age of 60. In his younger years, Gerald enjoyed bowling and woodworking. He was a jack of all trades handyman, he made several additions to the home he shared with Doris. He also built them a cottage, where he spent his summers gardening and enjoying time with family. Being a hockey fan, he was proud to cheer for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Moncton Wildcats.
He is survived by two daughters: Sharon at home, Ann Lirette (Paul) of Moncton; a son, Gregory (Aurora) of Upper Coverdale; one sister, Mary Arsenault of Moncton; four grandchildren: Melissa (Chris), Jennifer (Dominic), Jeremy and Daniel (Holly); two great-grandchildren: Noah and Jace as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Doris née Boudreau (2004); an infant son, Rodney; siblings Jessie, Tillie and Emmeline, Andrew, Joseph, Alfred, Harold, Bernie, Arnie, Alfie and Jackie.
Resting at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton the family will receive condolences on Tuesday May 14, from 2pm to 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm ONLY. The funeral will be celebrated on Wednesday May 15, 2019 at 11am at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
