
Fabien Léger, 87, of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 6, 2019 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, Moncton. Born in Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, NB, he was the son of the late Alban and Élise (Arsenault) Léger.
Fabien served as a priest in the Archdiocese of Moncton for many years. After leaving the priesthood, he became a councillor at the Moncton Detox Centre until his retirement.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Debbie Curwin (Peter) of Moncton; three sisters: Loretta Léger, Emerise Allain, and Alida Nutter; six brothers: Olivier (Rose-Marie), Amédée (Rosella), Ovide (Yvonnise), Jules (Mai), and Clarence (Patsy); one brother-in-law, Bobby Melanson; his grand-dogs: Piper and Cali; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Fabien was predeceased by his wife, Rosemonde Léger (2014); two sisters: Orpha LeBlanc and Germaine Melanson.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Monday April 15, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 10 am till the time of funeral. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre on Tuesday April 16, 2019 at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
