Bertha Poirier, 95, of Villa du Repos in Moncton, passed away on Monday April 1, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Malakoff, she was the daughter of the late Alyre and Useline (Dupuis) Melanson.

She is survived by four children: Yvette Bourque (late Charles) of Lakeville, Robert (Carmella) of Irishtown, Norman and Jacqueline Poirier-Thibodeau (Joe), both of Moncton; six grandchildren: Ricky, Michèle, Monique, Roland, Donna, and Joshua; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters: Juliette Bourgeois (late Vital) of Shediac, Dorice Noël (late Léandre) and Aline Cormier (Laurie), both of Scoudouc; one brother, Yvon Melanson of Shediac; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur (1964); and four siblings: Stanislas, Anita, Stella, and infant Yvette.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) from where the funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday April 3 at 11 am. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 7 to 9 pm and Wednesday from 10 am until time of funeral. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe. In memory of Bertha, a contribution to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated.
