
George Drisdelle, 93, formerly of Oasis d’Or in Dieppe, passed away on Thursday March 28, 2019 at the War Veterans Health Centre in Moncton. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Angus and Lydia (LeBlanc) Drisdelle.
George was a veteran of the Second World War. Prior to his retirement, he was a signal maintainer at CNR. He was a 3rd Degree member with the Knights of Columbus - council 6468.
He is survived by three children: Roland (Maria) of Dieppe, Yvette Biddington (David) of Bedford, NS, and Anne-Marie Reid (Greg) of Beaverbank, NS; two grandchildren: Luc and Matthew; two sisters: Elva Boudreau (late Léo) and Norma Dupuis (late Léo), both of Massachusetts, USA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rita née Gaudet (2011); one daughter, Francine (2005); two sisters: Bernadette and Maria; three brothers: Raymond, Eugene, and Tilmon.
In accordance to his wishes, there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be celebrated at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Monday April 1st at 11 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
