Robert "Bob" Bellefleur, 79, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Friday February 22nd, 2019 at his residence. Born in Edmundston, he was the son of the late Jean-Baptiste (Jack) and Malvina (Côté) Bellefleur.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Noëlla née Eagle; two children: Jean-Marc (Charlotte and her daughters Danielle & Isabelle) and Janice (Sandy) both of Moncton; five grandchildren: Julie, Jacques, Taylor, Selena, and Jordan; one sister, Joan Vickers of Montréal; one brother, John (Carol) of Toronto ; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by an infant son, Jacques (1974), a brother, Lloyd (2002) and a daughter-in-law, Josette (2007).

Bob was a dental technologist and founder of Dentech Dental Lab in Moncton. He was a Level 5 hockey coach, goaltender coach for ten years with the National University champions Aigles Bleus men’s hockey team, an avid golfer and curler, played baseball and softball, enjoyed cookouts on the barbecue with family and friends, and a devoted volunteer in various capacity over his living years.

He was a member of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Catholic Church and Club D’Age D’Or, Board Chairman of The Open Hands Food Bank for 20 years, past president on various associations: NB Dental Technicians, NB Amateur Hockey, Curling Beauséjour, Société Saint-Vincent de Paul NDG, Moncton Horseshoe Pitching Club, Moncton Minor Hockey, Magnetic Hill Golf Club to name a few. A member of many organizations: Codiac Transit Commission, Canadian Cancer Society, Knights of Columbus, Foyer Guillaume Pellerin, Terry Fox Run, Fox Creek and Mountain Woods Golf clubs. He was a public address announcer at the Moncton Coliseum for the American Hockey League, NHL pre-season and International exhibition games featuring Russian hockey teams.

He believed in treating people the way he wanted to be treated and helping others in need were part of his traditional values.

His dignified commitment for his many years of volunteerism was rewarded with the Queen Jubilee Medal in 2002 along with a number of recognition awards. He was inducted into the Moncton Wall of Fame in 1987 and the New Brunswick Hall of Fame in 2004.

Bob is the author of "Characteristics of Goaltending – a game within a game" written in 1983, a former hockey scout with the NHL Washington Capitals and Central Scouting System, instructor at many hockey schools and Université de Moncton Scientific Hockey School for 16 years.

The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) Thursday February 28th from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm also Friday March 1st from 10am until time of departure 10:45am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame-de-Grâce R.C. Church, 854 Mountain Road, Moncton, on Friday March 1st at 11:00 am. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary cemetery, Dieppe.
