Deborah "Debbie" Ann MacDonald of Moncton was 63 when she passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at The Moncton Hospital with her family by her side.
Born in New Waterford, NS, she was the daughter of the late Theresa MacNeil. Debbie was a loving caretaker and passionately looked after others as a home care nurse for much of her life.
Debbie was a loving wife, an amazing mother and grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. Always the fighter, she left this world on her terms and only when she was ready. Whether it was classic Queen, Meatloaf, or Greta Van Fleet, Debbie loved her "tunes", especially while keeping house or baking up a storm, and spending time at the beach with her family. A Cape Bretoner for life, she always said she had salt water in her veins.
Debbie will be forever missed by her husband of 39 years, Edmund "Ned" MacDonald whom she loved from the first day she saw him, her two sons: Mark (Claire) and Adam (Josette), and her five grandchildren: Matthew (Danielle), Alex, Caitlyn, Meagan, and Madison and great-grandson, Lincoln. She is also remembered by her mother-in-law Agnes Rudderham, by her brothers: Ted Williams (Karen) and Glen Williams (Terri), and by her extended family: Valerie Carty (Frank), Yvonne Bailey, Cindy Shelley (Tom), Kim Elder (Iain), Michael MacDonald (Jillian), as well as many nieces and nephews.
In accordance to her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her last days. In memory of Debbie, a contribution to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
