Charles Omer Cormier, 69, formerly of Cap-Pelé, passed away on Monday, January 21st, 2019 at the Villa Providence in Shediac. Born in Bas-Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Tilmon and Alma (LeBlanc) Cormier.
He enjoyed going hunting with his friends and family, especially his three sons. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed gardening.
Charles Omer will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Bernice; three sons: Mario (Ashley), Moïse (Geraldine) and Mathieu (Nicole); one brother, Norbert; six sisters: Léona Gallant (late Alphée), Albertine Albert (late Alphonse), Amanda Dupuis (late Normand), Emilia Duguay (Ulysse), Elda Jones (Donald) and Majella Doiron (Rhéal); a sister in-law, Loretta Cormier; a brother in-law, Emile Thibodeau; six grandchildren: Dani, Dylan, Jocelyn, Jani, Janelle and Alexi, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters: Claira Landry, Noëlla Hickey, Bernadette LeBlanc and Huberte Thibodeau; two brothers: Roméo et Ernest.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé (577-3297) on Thursday, January 24th, 2019 from 6 to 9 pm and Friday, January 25th from 9:30 to 10:20 am. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Thérèse d’Avila Church, 2648 Chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé, on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 10:30 am. Interment will be in parish cemetery.
In memory of Charles Omer, a contribution to the Alzheimer Society of New-Brunswick (858-8380) or to the Activity Department at the Villa Providence would be appreciated.
