

John Bourque, 87, of Auberge du Soleil in Dieppe and formerly of Trois-Ruisseaux, passed away at the Dr-Georges-L.-Dumont UHC on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Born August 6, 1931 in Cap-Pelé, he was the son of the late Willie and late Justine (Née Légère) Bourque.
He was a lobster fisherman and carpenter by trade working in Halifax for the last 20 years of his career. At one time, he owned and operated a small convenience store in Trois-Ruisseaux. He enjoyed hunting, listening to country music and traveling in his RV van in Maine and throughout various parts of the Maritimes especially Nova Scotia. A Washington Capitals fan, he had the opportunity to see his favorite hockey player (Alex Ovechkin) finally raise the Stanley cup in 2017-2018. He loved spending time with his family especially his five grandchildren, his pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife Anna (Ouellet); his two children: Anne-Marie Poirier (Paul) of Grande-Digue, Paul (Joanne) of Dieppe; his five grandchildren: Jean-François, Julie, Simon, Alexandre, Melissa; his brothers and sisters: Dismas (Mireille), Romuald (Florence), Ephrem (Louisa) of Cap-Pelé, Louise Collette (Roland) and Geraldine Goguen (lte Ferdinand) of Dieppe and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 chemin Acadie, Cap-Pelé on Friday, September 28th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. only. The funeral will be celebrated at Ste-Thérèse-d’Avila R.C. Church, 2648 chemin Acadie on Saturday September 29th at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
