Oswald Léger, 89, formerly of Dupuis Corner, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at the Villa Providence Shediac. Born in Dupuis Corner on August 13th, 1929, he was the son of the late Tanis and Albina (Thibodeau) Léger.
Before his retirement, he was the owner/operator of Oswald S. Leger Meat Cutter.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice; five children: Joanne Léger-Fortin (Marc) of Grand-Barachois, Bernice Landry (Pierre) (feu Norbert) of Grand-Barachois, Gisèle Léger of Dieppe, Claude Léger (Carole) of Cap-Pelé and Denise Léger of Dieppe; three grandchildren: Mario (Trisha), Marielle (Sébastien) and Myriam; three great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Anelle and Alexa; two sisters: Hélèna Bourque (Néri) and Claudette Plummer (George); four brothers: Alcide (Élise), Léandre (Lucille), Camille (Pauline) and Joseph (Jeanita).
He was predeceased by four sisters: Alice, Evelyne, Marguerite, and Juliette; one brother: Emery and a grandson: Sébastien.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Sunday, August 26th from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm only.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Ste. Thérèse d’Avila R. C. Church, 2648 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé on Monday, August 27th at 10:30 am.
Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
