François Richard, 88, formerly of Petit-Cap, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Villa Providence Shediac. Born on April 24th, 1930 in Petit-Cap, he was the son of the late Philippe and Alvina (Melanson) Richard.
Prior to his retirement, he was a fisherman.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Suzanne, née LeBlanc; three daughters: Émilie Landry (Jean-Guy), Rose Ceretti (Keith) and Angela Richard; two sons: Lucien (Jeannine) and Maurice (Joanne); nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one brother, Antoine; four sisters: Anna, Gloria, Yvette and Léoline; one daughter-in-law, Lina LeBlanc (Claude); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Pierre; his brothers and sisters: twin sister Élodie Anne, Nora, Lorette, infant Yvonne Marie, Hermine and her twin Tilmon, Laurie, Léo, Albert, and infant brother Camille.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre, 2642 Acadie Road, Cap-Pelé. Visiting hours: Thursday August 9, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Saint-Timothée R.C. church in Shemogue on Friday at 10:30am. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.
In memory of François, a contribution to the Ovarian Cancer of Canada (team J-Train, which represents Jenna spouse of François’ grandson Nigel Ceretti who passed away June 27th, 2018 at the age of 27.) would be appreciated.
